Lick Run Greenway Ambassador Program
Join the Lick Run Greenway Ambassador Program!
Located in the neighborhood of South Fairmount, the Lick Run Greenway is a mile-long bioengineered urban stream surrounded by a park. The Greenway helps manage rainwater and reduce sewer overflows into the Mill Creek.
The Lick Run Greenway is the result of years of planning and collaboration between many partners. The Metropolitan Sewer District of Greater Cincinnati (MSD) operates and maintains the Greenway, but we need your help to make it a success.
What is the Lick Run Greenway Ambassador Program?
The Lick Run Greenway Ambassador Program is a group of volunteers committed to helping keep the Greenway clean, safe, welcoming, and a resource for outdoor and environmental education. The program may also use paid co-ops/interns and youth employees.
The Ambassador Program is open to anyone at least 16 years of age who completes an application (see below). Ambassadors will receive a branded t-shirt and appropriate training, equipment and supplies.
What are the Responsibilities of an Ambassador?
Ambassadors can focus on one or more responsibilities, including:
- Adopt-A-Spot Partner: Individuals, groups, or businesses that choose to adopt a block of the Lick Run Greenway through Keep Cincinnati Beautiful’s Adopt-A-Spot program. Adopters will be provided with equipment and supplies from Keep Cincinnati Beautiful, and their name will be displayed on Adopt-A-Spot signage in the Greenway.
- Attendants: Responsible for greeting and welcoming visitors, answering questions, identifying areas of the Greenway that need repair or attention, and picking up litter.
- Activity Specialists Responsible for engaging the public in outdoor educational activities, fitness activities, and volunteer activities to improve the Greenway.
- Educational Partner: Non-profit organizations who wish to conduct educational programming at the Lick Run Greenway. This can include tours, lectures, or guided activities. This is open to individuals, schools, universities, organizations, scouting groups, and faith-based groups.
