MSD Hosts West Fork Meeting
On March 5, 2014, MSD hosted a public meeting on the West Fork Project. About 60 people attended the event at McKie Recreation Center in Northside to learn about projects to reduce combined sewer overflows (CSOs) into the West Fork Channel.
MSD's West Fork Project includes two projects to be constructed between 2015 and 2017 in Northside and Mt. Airy. The projects will eliminate about 173 million gallons annually of combined sewer overflows (CSOs) into the West Fork Channel, a tributary of the Mill Creek, as part of MSD’s Lower Mill Creek Partial Remedy.
In addition, MSD is conducting other projects in the West Fork watershed, including a stormwater bioinfiltration basin along West Fork Road.
